Mbira

Mbira is a unique collection of thumb pianos made up of 5 presets all ready to drop into the Noiiz Player. An instrument of African origin, the Mbira consists of a wooden board with attached metal tines. Played with thumbs, this provides a bright and pure metallic tone.

Recorded in pristine detail at Nave Studios and utilising Andy Wilsons large collection of Mbiras, we recorded combinations of these wonderful instruments in different tunings to capture as many notes as possible. All Mbiras were carefully recorded with matched, stereo pairs of Neumann KM183's and U87's to ensure we were faithful to the original sound.
